Did you know that gymnastics can support your child's early learning just as much as it supports their physical development?

Educational Toddler Gymnastics Summer Camp

At House of GPA in Balham, London, our Educational Toddler Gymnastics Camp combines movement, play, and learning to create a fun and engaging experience for children aged 1–3 years. Running from Monday, 13 July to Friday, 11 September, from 10:00 AM–11:00 AM, our camp is designed to help little ones build confidence, develop essential motor skills, and explore early educational concepts alongside their parent or carer.

Learning the Alphabet, Numbers and Shapes with Babies and Toddlers Aged 1-3 Years

Research has shown that young children learn best through play and hands-on experiences. When children move their bodies, they are not only developing strength, balance, coordination, and spatial awareness, but they are also strengthening the brain connections needed for learning. In our gymnastics sessions, educational activities are woven naturally into movement. For example, children may be asked to jump to a giant letter "A" before crawling through a tunnel and finding the letter "B". As they move through different stations, they begin to recognise letters and connect them with fun physical activities.

Numbers are also incorporated throughout the class. Children might count how many star jumps they can do, hop along numbered floor markers, or practise balancing on one foot while counting to five. These simple activities help children develop number recognition and early counting skills while staying active and engaged.

Shapes are another exciting part of our educational gymnastics programme. Children may create different body shapes, such as a star, tuck, or straight shape, and then match them to circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles placed around the gym. They might be encouraged to travel around a triangle-shaped course or jump between colourful shape markers, helping them recognise and understand shapes through movement and play.

One of the most rewarding aspects of toddler gymnastics is seeing how quickly children develop. Even children as young as one year old can make remarkable progress in their balance, coordination, listening skills, confidence, and independence. Through regular participation, toddlers learn to follow instructions, take turns, solve simple challenges, and interact with other children in a positive environment.

Because parents and carers participate alongside their child, the experience becomes even more special. It provides an opportunity to bond, celebrate achievements together, and support your child's development every step of the way. Our Educational Toddler Gymnastics Camp is more than just a gymnastics class—it's an opportunity for children to learn, move, explore, and grow in a fun, supportive environment.

We can't wait to welcome you and your little one this summer!
